Substitute Para-Educator
SUBSTITUTE PARA-EDUCATOR INFORMATION
As a Substitute Para-Educator, you will be working in our Special Education Programs and/or Alternative Education Programs on an on-call basis to provide assistance to the classroom teacher. Typically, you will be called on the morning of the day you are needed to work, usually between 6:00a.m. and 8:00a.m.
It is a requirement that all Substitute Para-Educators have a high school diploma or equivalent, and either 48 college units or passing score on the Para-Educator Exam administered by our office.

QUALIFICATIONS TO BECOME A SUBSTITUTE PARA-EDUCATOR
- Proficiency Certificate (not required for holder of AA/AS, BA/BS, or 48 semester units - must submit transcripts)
- Negative Tuberculosis (TB) Test - within 60 days (must submit proof)
- Fingerprint Clearance (County Office will provide form after Edjoin application is cleared)
